Marijuana is a mind altering drug, and not unlike its wet counterpart alcohol, it has the ability to unite or divide those discussing its place in American society. According to federal surveys, more than 70 million Americans over the age of 18 have smoked marijuana.

Mr. James Cruise, you are misinformed and a prime example of why marijuana IS illegal in the United States.

The report shows that marijuana legalization — replacing prohibition with a system of taxation and regulation — would save $7.7 billion per year in state and federal expenditures on prohibition enforcement and produce tax revenues of at least $2.4 billion annually if marijuana were taxed like most consumer goods.
