“Libertarians Need to Rethink Support for Drug Legalization”
Perhaps one of the worst arguments against support of cannabis legalization and regulation, Pajamas Media (you can harass them on Twitter here: @PajamasMedia) brings us the tragic story of an amateur gay porn star who unfortunately choked to death on his stash while attempting to get rid of the evidence. Some choice quotes following the jump and video:
On being a gay porn star:
To the libertarian, such a profession would also not present a problem, as prostitution does not. But the two — drug use and the self-debasement of prostitution and pornography — go hand in hand.
After digesting that little tidbit, the only thing that comes to mind is a Bob Saget quote; you know the one. They continue:
Ask any strip club dancer how easy it is to get up on stage stone cold sober. Ask anyone who has been under the influence about the stupid things he did. Indeed, Grande probably started young, when he was impressionable. And recent reporting has shown that our “safe schools czar,” Kevin Jennings, was head of an organization that used the schools to promote homosexual sex between boys and men. Certainly the ability to engage in such destructive behavior is enhanced by the use of drugs.
Okay, we’ll assume the kid was nervous about his gig as a gay stripper. How does smoking pot help then? When I am placed in uncomfortable situations, especially loud, boisterous social situations, the last thing that makes me feel “at home” is getting stoned. Well, unless of course everyone’s stoned. I doubt this was the case. Here’s more:
And this is where the libertarian brings up the other “drug”: alcohol.
Libertarians are fond of pointing to the wreckage caused by the abuse of alcohol: deterioration of health, traffic deaths, and domestic violence. This is true, but it is an analogy that emerges from an abstraction. Libertarians argue that the only difference between the two is traditional: we have stamped alcohol consumption with a seal of social approval.
But I would argue that tradition should be a reason for its continued legal status and for denying legal status to marijuana.
The sanction for alcohol use goes back to the Bible. In the New Testament, references to its use in ceremonies like the Last Supper and the wedding at Cana appear. But Jesus also warns about excessive use. In the Old Testament, alcohol is shown to cloud the judgment of Lot. The Bible, in this way, tells us when and how we can use alcohol.
Did they really just reference the Bible? Well, since the Bible is open to interpretation and doesn’t specifically mention marijuana, I’m just going to assume God’s given it His official stamp of approval. I hope that works for our readers.

You ever sucked dick for marijuana?
I guess I gotta start hitting women too. You know, for tradition sake
Yeah, quote the bible… guess what? The anointing oil used by Jebus in the most popular fiction ever sold was cannabis oil.
Not to mention the quote i hear often from religitards who toke, some part of Genesis, “and i give you every seed-bearing fruit” whatever, but it’s bible justification for cannabis.
Stop calling it ‘marijuana.’ We’re not speaking Mexican Spanish.

First and foremost allow me to apologize for English is not my native language, any bizarre sentence structure or any errors are attributable to that fact.
A completely unknown author/poet with a PhD in English disagrees with legalization of drugs, well there’s nothing wrong with that we live in a free world and everybody is entitled to his opinion. Her point of view is completely biased and her extreme right rhetoric is almost devoid of facts and filled with fallacies.
This is truly the worst argument against legalization I have ever heard in my whole life, and believe you me I’ve heard many. Although I feel we must give credit where credit is due her argument is pure comedic gold, never have I seen such clumsy and badly researched rhetoric in my life. She has absolutely no grasp on the subject she is trying to debate and thus fails miserably.
